In August of 2020, a trailer was released for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. But I’m not going to be talking about THAT game; it hasn’t even come out yet. No, I’m talking about the classic released on November 6, 2007. You see, one night in late September, I had a dream about Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. I woke up and thought to myself, “I need to 100% that game.” and I did just that.
Man, this game has a lot of content. Just doing each level on its own is fun enough, but there’s so much to do. Getting all Minikits (10 collectibles in each level), studs, Red Bricks, completing Bounty Hunter Missions, Getting all Challenge Level Minikits, and doing all Super Stories (Every level in that episode combined). There are six “episodes” for the six Star Wars movies, all with six levels. Seriously, it took me 54 hours, 45 minutes, and 22.19 seconds to get 100%.
Part of what I like about this game so much is the creativity. It perfectly adapts Lego and Star Wars into an adventure flowing with it. For example, a major part of the experience is the co-op. You can play by yourself (like me), or you could play with a friend by your side. And they always implement these other characters in creative ways, even if the scene only has one character in the original movie. Like in “Cloud City Trap” instead of just Luke fighting Darth Vader, R2D2 comes along too.
Seriously, I could go on. I have several paragraphs that I had to take out just because I wanted to keep this short. If you have Lego Star Wars but haven’t played it in a while, try it again. It’s a great experience and holds up as an all-time classic.
